ABOUT VANESSA LI

Vanessa is a Toronto-based UX/UI designer and creative strategist with a passion for storytelling. With over eight years of experience in marketing, she has worked with global brands like L’Oréal, Montblanc, and Dior, specializing in crafting compelling brand narratives and high-end aesthetics. Her expertise spans cosmetics, skincare, and luxury branding, but her true passion lies in content creation—bringing stories to life through video, design, and photography.

Her journey from marketing manager to media creator led her to Toronto, where she pursued Media Communications at Humber Polytechnic. There, she refined her skills in UX/UI design, digital media, and strategic branding, earning a spot on the Dean’s List three times.

As an influencer with over 100,000 followers on both Chinese and Western social media platforms, Vanessa shares vlogs about studying abroad in Toronto, offering insights and experiences to an international audience. She also uses her platforms to showcase her creative journey, from design to storytelling through photography, video, and writing.

Outside of her creative work, Vanessa expresses herself through comedy, performing stand-up at Toronto’s Comedy Bar and Second City, and sketch at BDB Comedy Club. She sees humour as another form of storytelling. To her, both design and comedy are about understanding people: what moves them, what resonates, and what creates lasting impact.
